On March 7, 2020, at the age of 78, a well-known scientist in the field of electromechanics and electrical apparatus, doctor of technical sciences, professor, editor-in-chief of the journal “Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics”, long-time head of the department of electrical apparatus of NTU “KhPI” Klimenko Boris Vladimirovich suddenly died.
Thanks to his extraordinary intellect, talent, education, determination and hard work, Boris Vladimirovich deservedly gained great authority as a specialist and researcher in higher educational institutions, enterprises and companies both in Ukraine and abroad. He was the author of three monographs, about 200 printed works and 70 copyright certificates and patents, and his monograph “Forced Electromagnetic Systems” is a desktop for many specialists in the field of electrical apparatus. Under his leadership, eight candidate and two doctoral dissertations were prepared.
Boris Vladimirovich paid much attention and effort to organizational and methodological work and issues of the content of higher education. He developed original courses of disciplines, taught, and his terminological manuals and textbooks on electrical apparatuses are widely known outside the NTU "KhPI". On his initiative since 1998, the SIEMA International Symposium on Improving Electrical Machines and Devices has been held annually, and since 2002, the scientific and practical journal "Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics" has been published, in which he was editor-in-chief until the last day.
Among his colleagues, Boris Vladimirovich enjoyed well-deserved respect and authority for his benevolence, tact, modesty, and the ability to find the right words and do any job. Everyone could go into Boris Vladimirovich with his own question, for advice, his doors were always open, and no one seam from him without receiving an answer.
We deeply grieve and express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Boris Vladimirovich. Everlasting memory!

The Editorial Board of the journal «Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics» informs that on April 24, 2017 the editorial board received an answer from Web of Science. The letter says that the journal is accepted for indexing by Web of Science Core Collection : Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) (read more).
Currently, profile is created for ESCI database and it takes a while. Once the profile is ready, the journal will be available for search in Web of Science.
